ABOUT THE INSTALLATION

ABOUT THE INSTALLATION

RxART is collaborating with artist Alexis Rockman on a commission for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) at the new College Hill facility. Hospital leadership requested RxART’s services for a main corridor on the first floor of the new building, which will be a key passageway for all patients as well as the direct route to the gym, outdoor respite garden, and activity areas.

Rockman’s imagery of a lush rainforest against an expansive blue sky dotted with butterflies will provide an engaging and positive distraction for the diverse population of patients ages 3 to 17, as well as for staff, family members, and visitors. The verdant trees and view from below of delicate flying butterflies and flowers convey a sense of optimism and forward progress, in addition to providing interesting visual stimulation for the patients, providers, and staff members who will experience this enlivened hallway on a regular basis.
