COMPLETED HOSPITAL PROJECTS
RxART has connected hospitals with established artists to realize more than 60 site-specific installations in medically approved materials. These projects range from hallway and waiting room commissions to scanner suite transformations. By improving healthcare spaces across America, we promote positivity and well-being throughout the system. We believe pediatric patients, along with their families and caregivers, deserve to experience the benefits of creative environments.

OTHER PROJECTS
RxART x FIGS
In January 2022, RxART announced the launch of the PJ Project: children’s pajamas designed by Urs Fischer and produced by FIGS for use at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). These pajamas were produced in six styles and featured imagery of friendly animals—bunnies, cats, teddy bears, and more—as well as Fischer’s well-known snowmen, adorned here with an array of humorous accessories and engaged in various unexpected activities. For the artist, this imagery was intended to make patients feel special and comfortable. One thousand units of the pajamas were donated to the hospital.
“I have been in children’s hospitals with children who are not doing well. And when you’re in there, it gets very real. Anything you can do helps; if they feel it’s a place with care, it elevates the situation,” said Fischer. “We all have a memory of the one cool t-shirt we had when we were five, and you put it on and you felt invincible. That’s the goal with the PJ Project…it’s this idea that something can give you this kind of energy.”
Two years earlier in 2020, the RxART x FIGS Artist Capsule Mask Collection was created in collaboration with artists Mel Bochner, Ann Craven, Dan Colen, and Rob Pruitt. All proceeds from the sale of these specially designed masks benefited RxART’s mission. Click here to shop RxART x FIGS masks.
The PJ Project for CHLA was made possible with thanks to FIGS and support from Catherine and Kate Montgomery as well as the Mark and Caroline Montgomery Memorial Fund of the Santa Barbara Foundation.
