ABOUT THE INSTALLATION
In 2012, RxART installed a series of prints at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. Artwork from the Lincoln Center Vera List Art Project were selected for the Radiology Department’s waiting area, including prints by Donald Baechler, George Condo, Robert Cottingham, Glenn Ligon, Malcolm Morley, and Donald Sultan. Additionally, prints by Jason Middlebrook were installed in the ultrasound waiting area.
The dynamic, large-scale works were embraced by the hospital’s doctors and patients, who expressed their appreciation for how the space was uplifted by the artworks’ lively color, vivid forms, and the artists’ signature iconographies. This installation was made possible through the generous support of Agnes Gund.
In 2013, RxART, inspired by the positive reception to the print installation, curated a second selection of artworks in the hospital's waiting area of the outpatient clinic.
