ABOUT THE INSTALLATION
In October 2009, RxART completed its first installation in a New York City public hospital. Original drawings and prints by artist Mark Dion, Ben Jones, Chris Martin, Jason Middlebrook, Laura Owens, Garrett Phelan, Paul Henry Ramirez, and Lane Twitchell were installed in the Pediatric Unit of NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur. Since then, RxART and NYC Health + Hospitals have continued to collaborate and have realized nearly a dozen art installations in public hospitals across the city.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur is part of an integrated healthcare system that includes hospitals, neighborhood health centers, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, and home care services. Gouverneur is a 295-bed skilled nursing facility located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side that provides short-term rehabilitation therapy and on-site clinical services, including rehabilitation services, long-term nursing care, hospice care, and palliative care.
